Advocating for Your Future

Lorraine Scollin B.A., LL.B.

LAW CORPORATION

Lorraine Scollin has thirty-two years experience in the settlement, mediation, arbitration and litigation of family law and estate matters. As a former full-time mediator and family assessor, she brings a uniquely empathic and child-centered mindset to the practice of family law, allowing her to focus on what is in your children’s best interests and support you through a difficult time.

You know that settlement is always the best option, from an emotional and financial perspective and Lorraine will keep that goal in mind throughout. If a settlement is not possible, she is equally committed to a respectful and financially efficient use of litigation to achieve a fair result for you and your children. Lorraine and her assistant, Heather David, take the approach that keeping their caseload small affords them the opportunity to complete your case in a shorter period of time and provide each client with the focussed attention they deserve.

If you face the possibility of being estranged from your children within what is often called parental alienation then this is an area in which Lorraine has a special interest and considerable experience. She is also familiar with the inappropriate use of the term ‘parental alienation’ when applied to the legitimate fear an abused spouse feels.

Lorraine is also an experienced estate planner, especially for blended families and for families planning for a beneficiary who is disabled, and she can assist executors with all facets of the administration of estates.
